Swimming
Most people come here for swimming, especially in the hot Summer. Only looking into the distant sea cannot satisfy the travelers’ craving. Jumping into the cold water can refresh your mind. Kenting Beach is thus popular among international travelers, especially in the hot summer. Besides Kenting Beach, Nanwan and Little Bay offer the most accessible beaches for swimming and organized water sports. These years, jumping off the chin of Sail Rock is quite popular.
Diving & Surfing
Having the best surfing waves, the waters around Jialeshui and the nuclear at Nanwan are popular amoung surfing lovers. As for diving, people usually choose the coral formations near Sail Rock.
Hiking
Inside Kenting Forest Recreation area, being seen from all over, Dajianshan is a steep slab peak. Hiking to the top of this mountain only takes less than an hour and offers fine views of the surrounding land and sea. If you climb earlier in the morning, you can see the sunrise.
Bird Watching
A bird watching activity is usually held by Kenting National Park Administration on the north and south lakeside of Lungruan Lake. The best time to go is around October because thousands of migrating Gray-faced Buzzard Eagles and Chinese Sparrow Hawks pass through Kenting each day during that time. If you are interested, you can go gathering there at the time. Remember to bring a pair of binocular.

Bluefin Tuna
The different parts of Bluefin Tuna can be served as various delicacies. The belly section of bluefin tuna is served as sashimi,
,which dissolves instantly in your mouth. The back part is usually fried as Taiwan matsusaka; the chin is for frying and the head is used in soup or steamed. With diverse nutrition elements, such as EPA, DHA, nucleic acid and several vitamins, the Bluefin Tuan is good for health. The meat of Bluefin Tuan is regarded as the best choice of sashimi due to its high quality.
Sakura shrimp
As a precious shrimp, Sakura shrimp can be only found in two places in the world: Japan's Saragudai river bend, and Donggang. Thename of “sakura”(cherry blossom) is derived from its tiny size. Sakura shrimp is also a dish with high nutrition, containing 2000 milligrams of calcium per 100 grams, which is 200 milligrams more than other shrimps. With rich calcium, Sakura shrimp is especially good for women, growing children and osteoporosis patients.
Black Pearl Wax Apple
The salty oils is especially suitable for wax apples. Due to the natural environment here, the Black Pearl Wax Apple is famous among domestic and international travelers. It is also a good choice as the present for relatives and friends.
Onions
Kenting is situated in Hengchun Peninsula, which is a main onion-growing region in Taiwan. March and April are the peak months for harvesting. The major growing regions are the townships of Hengchun, Checheng and Fonggang of Pingtung County. If you are an onion favor and interested in the history of onions, you can visit an Onion Culture Museum on the fourth floor of the Checheng Farmer's Association, which provides both information and delicious dishes.
Monkey River Shrimp
Mokey River Shrimp has good physical exertion, which allows it to travel for miles, making its meat tasty for glutton. The Monkey River Shrimp usually travels in groups in order to find a better place with rich water resources. The shrimp is usually used to be boiled as dishes. In Taiwan, Monkey river shrimps can be found only in the Hengchun area.
Red Yolk Duck Eggs
As one of the most famous local products of Sihjhongsi, Red Yolk Duck Eggs are the eggs of the ducks raised on shrimps and spiral shells harvested from the pristine river water. Usually preserved by salting and placed in hot spring water, the Red Yolk Duck Eggs gives a smooth and delicious taste, differing from the ordinary eggs with offensive smell.

Bluefin Tuna Cultural Festival
Donggang's tuna catch in Taiwan is the largest one all around world. The Pingtung Bluefin Tuna Cultural Festival has become a regular event, running May through June. The bluefin tuna belongs to the Pacific blue fin, migrating and spawning across the Pacific Ocean. As one of the three aquatic treasures of Donggang, Bluefin Tuna is so scrumptious that it has been named as “Porsche of the deep ocean” and “the Rolls Royce of fish meat”. Due to its ambrosial taste, Japanese used to buy almost all of the tuna years ago. (Tuna is called as Toro by Japanese) Now, tuna is available to the local market to satisfy visitors’ desires. It appeals more and more visitors, and companies have been offering bus tours to Donggang to sample the fish.
Boat Burning Festival
The Boat Burning Festival in Donggang was held at the splendid Donglong temple once every three years. The festival usually lasts more than eight days. During the festical, there is a boat filled with models of a modern house, clothing, cars, horses and electrical appliances. Of course, sacrificial offerings of meat are not ignored. The entire model will be burnt as an offering to Wen Wang-yeh, a Tang-dynasty scholar who is said to watch over the waters of southern China.
