Mitte
As the most central borough of Berlin, Mitte encompasses the historic core of Berlin. Famous tourist attractions, such as Pergamon Museum, Reichstag, Pariser Platz & Brandenburger Tor, Charite, etc. get together in this lovely compound. The Reichstag building was opened in 1894 and housed Reichstag until 1933. After enduring the Third Reich, World War II, the Cold War and the Reunification, Reichstag has transformed into the symbol of Germany with evidential significance. The clear dedication of “Dem Deutschen Volke”, meaning “To the German people”, is obviously carved on the architrave above the main facade of the building and as an iconic point of attraction.
When you visit this place, you may experience the long history of this endurable architecture. Nowadays, Reichstag has successfully combined the valuable previous relics and the reconstruction of modern architecture.
