South Bay (Nanwan)

Nanwan is a fishing village has a soft sand beach, it is ideal for all kinds of beach and water activities. Swimming, surfing, snorkeling and scuba diving are really popular here, nearby you can find lots of shops, bars, restaurants, and some rentals of water sports equipment. 600 meters long, Nanwan is the widest beach in Kenting National Park, also one of the significant scenery spots of Kenting. The warm current makes great harvest of fishes in Nanwan, and the Japan Current brings warm and stable temperature which benefits the growth of corals. There are various marine creatures available in the intertidal zone, visitors are able to explore the underwater world. The water activities and stunning view attract visitors during summer time.

Directions :

By car:
From the Siaokan Highway Exchange exit to Provincial Route no.27, passing Linyuan, Tonkan, Linpian and Sui-d-liao. Then, connect to Provincial Route no.1 south. At Fungkan, turn to Route no.24, passing Cheechen and arriving at Hengchun.
Do not enter the town. Go straight for another 2 km and you will reach South Bay.

From Hengchun, take the express bus bound for Kenting and Oluanpi. Alight at South Bay stop.
