Fengchihu Scenic Area

Fenchihu is one of the main stops of the Alishan rail road because in the past Fenchihu was a middle stop for the old fashion train to change fuel. Although the electronic train has been invented it still stops at Fenchihu, so people can rest and get a famous Fenchihu Lunch Box.

Due to travel industry Alishan tourism has become very popular. Fenchihu is well-known by its old fashion street, bamboo and delicious lunch box. The town has the altitude of 1,405 meters. With the mountains surround, the low-lying land in the middle and the clouds on top it makes the lake-shape. The houses in Fenchihu were built on the hillside. There is a 150 meters antiquity street near the train station. Even until now the street still maintains the traditional looks. The shops are mostly built in wood and the road and stairs are made in rocks which enhance antiquity ambiance.
