Hongyeh (Red Leaves) Hot Springs
The hot spring water contains to alkaline sodium carbonate. It is one of the three most famous hot springs locations in Hualien. The spring water is clear, colorless, and odorless at 47 degrees Celsius. It is good for treating skin diseases and suitable for drinking. The spring water comes from Hongyeh Brook, originated from 1745 meters above sea level. The stream of spring water is the longest in Taiwan, as it is 14 kilometers long. It flows east until it meets Siuoguluan River. The surrounding of the hot springs is tranquil and serene. In fact, the appearance of the surrounding changes with the seasons.
